Printronix 5000 series paper feed problems

Symptom: Dot creep on Decision Data or DEC version of Printronix printers.

If you are witnessing a dot creep problem on any OEM version of a Printronix printer, such as a Decision Data, or DEC (LG series) or even IBM versions of Printronix printers. The problem may lie in the Paper Feed motor Pulley, There is a difference between the true Printronix P.F. Pulley and some of the OEM versions. The PTX has and uses a 25 tooth pulley. Some of the OEM's use a 24 tooth pulley, if these OEM versions of printers were converted to a PTX standard, and the 24T pulley was not replaced with the 25T pulley, you will get a page creep problem. Don't get fooled! some of the OEM printers went out the door with a 24T pulley that had the marking " 25T " stamped on it! This was in error, and can possibly throw you off! If it is a PTX printer, running with PTX software, Proms, Etc... then it will be using a 25 Tooth pulley
P/N 153921-001 = 24 tooth pulley (DEC Printers)
P/N 108627-001 = 25 tooth pulley (62XX, XQ, P9XXX, P5XXX, P4XXX)
make sure to ask sales person about the proper collar that holds this pulley in place.
