Only then did we discover just how many different OEM's had utilized this rugged family of print engines and the extent of the installed base.  The importance of Ricoh's printer division to their overall corporate strategy has become evident in the last several years.  They have invested heavily in the development of new digital print engines for their copier division and with the convergence of the functionality between digital copiers and laser printers they have a real advantage in a pre-existing customer base of experienced digital users. The Aficio product family covers a broad range of features including color output, network connectivity, web based administration, and a great collection of input, output, and finishing options. Within the last few years they have acquired the Hitachi Koki printer division (and with it Dataproducts) and most recently the printer division of IBM. These acquisitions give them control over some powerhouse printer technologies.  Ricoh's document scanners are first class products in the midrange realm. With speeds up to 122 page impressions per minute and a good selection of productivity options, they can satisfy today's most demanding document imaging requirements.
